Meryl Streep: Tonight The Iron Lady received GOLD!

MITM wants to congratulate truly, a One of A Kind, uber talented, Momz In The Mix Extradinaire - Meryl Streep, on winning her third Academy Award on Sunday night, for her role as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady.
Believe it (or not), This was Streep’s 17th nomination!
She was given a standing ovation by the crowd, and pleaded with them to stop cheering and sit down the second she got to the microphone.

“When they called my name,” she joked, “I had this feeling I could hear half of America going, ‘Oh no! Oh come on, why her? Again!’”

Streep, who seemed to be on the verge of tears at a few points during her speech, began by thanking her husband, Don, because, she reasoned, “When you thank your husband at the end of the speech, they play him out with the music.”
She then thanked J. Roy Helland, who won an Oscar earlier in the evening for his makeup work on the film. Helland and Streep have worked together for 37 years, and she told the story of how they met at her first play in New York City, and have worked together on every one of her movies ever since.

When we loose someone too soon, through self destruction, or not, we can only wonder “What’s it all about?” For Whitney was it Pain? Emptiness? Anger? Fear? All of these?

We are here for a reason, a bigger picture, if you will and we each walk a path that we are suppose to recognize, to honor.
WIll we? Can we? Yes, we ultimately believe we can, If we can set aside our pride and ego…we can.

That Voice. Whitney was, is and will forever remain THE Voice.
Houston, whose voice was widely recognized as one of the strongest of her generation, was one of the world’s best selling artists in the mid 1980s to the late 1990s. According to her website, she has sold more than 170 million albums. Her talent, combined with her stunning good looks and poise catapulted her into a successful movie career.

There’s little denying that whatever the cause of Whitney’s death, the loss of a woman, a Mom In The Mix, of such promise and talent at such a young age is indeed a tragedy.
Our thoughts and prayers truly go to Bobbie Christina now as every child needs their mom.
Our prayer is for her to be able to find a mother’s love, support and most of all - Peace in someone close to her a she now walks her path minus one.

Whitney’s untimely death should be a reminder to all of us that life is indeed short, and that we all owe it to ourselves not to squander the gifts we have.

You will be thought of often, greatly missed and eternally loved.
