We had the extreme pleasure to sit down for an entire afternoon and talk “mom-to-mom” with Mayim Bialik.
Not only did she openly and honestly share with us her choice to raise her two children with Attachment Parenting techniques, she also shared with us, her user-friendly recipe for organic shampoo her entire family uses!

Her new book, Beyond the Sling: A real-life guide to raising confident, loving children the attachment parenting way (published by Touchstone) former Blossom star, Mayim Bialik takes this opportunity to describe her family’s unconventional sleeping situation.

Every night, she and her husband go to bed with their two little boys on a pair of futons laid side-by-side on the floor.
Bialik, who brandishes a Ph.D. in neuroscience, (UCLA in 2007), fully admits that the arrangement isn’t ideal. “We never have sex in bed anymore, for one thing, and it looks to others like we are staying in a youth hostel!” she states. But Bialik loves the fact “bed sharing” allows her to nurse on demand and attend to her kids’ needs at all hours of the night.
“Knowing that my babies were right next to me at night allowed me to rest knowing that I could tell if they were too hot, too cold, not breathing right—whatever!” Bialik explains in her book.
La Leche League International, a nonprofit organization that promotes breast-feeding, recommends parent-infant bed sharing for these reasons, too.

We’re quite certain you already know Mayim is best known for her roles as Blossom Russo on the ’90′s sitcom Blossom, a young Bette Midler in Beaches, AND currently as Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory.

But did you know that Mayim is also a lactation educator and spokesperson for the Holistic Moms Network?

Ok clearly, the only “theory” this MOMZ IN THE MIX continues to put into use is simply this- when you believe in yourself and keep your passion alive you CAN accomplish and do anything you set your mind to!
