Jennifer Lopez is one of our favorite Momz In The Mix.
She is elegant, hard working, and of course fierce. But it was recently announced that she and her husband of seven years; Marc Anthony, are calling it quits.
Not to play Devil’s advocate however, we must pose the question is this a publicity stunt? We only ask this because it just so happens that the soon to be split couple also announced they’ll be collaborating with acclaimed director-choreographer Jamie King and American Idol creator and XIX Entertainment CEO and founder Simon Fuller to bring us Q’Viva The Chosen.
Lopez stated of Q’Viva: “This is a show for the 21st century with an unprecedented global and local story. The Latin culture is a tapestry that is rich in passion, tradition and artistry. We are going to places where all of this talent lives and wouldn’t have otherwise been discovered. This journey for me and Marc is going be exciting and groundbreaking.”
Fuller, who’ll serve as executive producer, comments that Q’Viva “Truly celebrates the beauty and splendor of Latin music and dance.” Adds King: “This is not about competition, it’s about finding great talent, cultivating that talent and sharing it with the world.
So upon further investigation, we learned preproduction for Q’Viva began back in April of 2011.
Ok, squashing the possible nasty thought of this being a publicity stunt, we now have to take a look at their beautiful and above all, innocent children as they are the ones to suffer. Jennifer stated this was the hardest decision she has ever had to make. One that broke her heart into a thousand pieces.
We genuinely feel sad and know from personal experience how Jennifer feels and yes, when small innocent hearts are involved it sends waves of damage throughout the entire family and out into their outer core of family members and friends. Grand parents, best friends, school mates etc…. are greatly effected and feel the damage of self centered choices. As Emme & Max (3) grow up, they will be shuffled back and forth between multiple houses. Their “new reality” decided for them without allowing them to have their own voice in the matter, obviously due to their young age.
So many children these days are placed in this horrible “new reality” which makes us recall a statement Chris Rock once said, “When you cheat on your wife, you cheat on your children…bottom line.” We couldn’t agree with him more.
Frankly, the news did come as a shock to most as there were no apparent signs of angst within the relationship.
Regardless of tabloid reports and constant speculation on Marc’s infidelity, we wish nothing but peace and integrity for Jennifer (42) and her beautiful twins going forward. She is an incredible role modal and inspiration for women everywhere and of course she is and always will be one fierce Mom In The Mix.
